Newport News Police Department Vehicle Crime Prevention Event

Newport News Police Department’s Vehicle Crime Prevention events for 2025 will kick off on Saturday April 5, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at police headquarters. The events feature several useful services aimed at preventing and deterring vehicle crime. 

What you can expect: 

Have your VIN engraved on your catalytic converter 

Have your VIN etched onto your window glass 

Registered Kia and Hyundai owners receive a free steering wheel lock  

Vehicle theft deterrence information and promotional giveaways (while supplies last) 

Registration is encouraged but not required.
